Our Youth is Key to Brighter Futures!
A key part of our Chargeway initiative is giving local youth the chance to work, volunteer, and contribute to the design of our community parks. We believe young people bring fresh ideas and energy to the table, and we encourage all youth in the surrounding neighborhood to get involved.
Together, we can help shape vibrant spaces for everyone to enjoy!
Our Current Opportunities

The Michigan Arts and Culture Council has recently granted Southwest Detroit Environmental Vision an award of $17,750 to provide our community with quality cultural events within our Youth House For Environmental Justice Design Project. The Youth House for Environmental Justice is a project that will allow young residents and their families, in the Southwest Detroit Neighborhood, to work together to reimagine a vacant lot; designing both a small building (The Youth House) and the landscape surrounding it. The Youth House will serve as a hub for youth to engage in creative design challenges focused on environmental concerns and will be home to our Environmental Engagement Through The Arts Programming.
This project will start in the Summer of 2025.
